Magenta Brass -  The young brass quintet has been founded in 2013 by five students of the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media (Germany). In their studies, all of them are currently focussing on performance as well as on educational skills. In the four years of their existence Magenta Brass have played many concerts, focussing on original literature for brass quintet. They also have performed their own arrangements and compositions and have worked together with young composers.

They have been invited to the Stockholm Chamber Brass Academy 2018, where they had intensive coachings with all members of the famous Swedish brass quintet and with the American composer Mike Svoboda. In 2015 and 2017 they participated in masterclasses for chamber music with the German Brass members Prof. Uwe K├Âller and Prof. Wolfgang Gaag and Prof. Andreas Martin Hofmeir.

The ensemble name Magenta Brass refers to the special architecture of the main building of the Hanover University of Music. Usually the ensemble rehearsals take place there on a magenta coloured carpet.
